BIRTH
Angelo Silesio, a German mystic, warns us this way: "Even if Jesus was born a thousand times in Bethlehem, but not in you, you remain lost for eternity. "
Like every religious event, this one also reminds us of different meanings depending on the scale on which we take it. I can think of three of them, the first of which is undoubtedly the possible historical event of the birth of Jesus.
The coming of Christ is also the birth of what the Fourth Way calls the steward, that is, the part of us who can handle the chaos of the lower centers and the many I’s, and prepare the ground for the coming of God, the higher centers. Born in Mary, the "emotionally intelligent" part in us (nine hearts for those who know the language), comes from God, which also suggests it is a product of school work.
Then there is another birth that happens and which, we could say, is the end of work on oneself: opening up to the reality of the present moment, to the grace that can come from above, when one can create a space above the chaos of lower centers.
Every moment is newly born.
"And you only have to be quiet and lonely and patient enough to receive the grace of such an hour, which does not penetrate many, because in them there is so much noise and no order. " ~ Rainer Maria Rilke
