Laws We Are Under
We mentioned earlier that there is a correspondence between our inner and outer worlds. Depending on our state, we are subject to certain laws. We cannot circumvent any law, but we can change our state of consciousness and this will bring us under other laws.
A simple example: I am a man, I will have to die. This is inescapable. But I am also a free citizen, who can move and act. If I were imprisoned, while remaining mortal, I would be subject to an additional law restricting my movements. By escaping, I free myself from one law, while remaining under others.
When I am asleep among the many 'I's, I am subject to certain laws. When I remember myself, I free myself from some, while remaining subject to others.
World 96 (false personality) subjects me to the law of accident— events that happen by chance. The many 'I's are unpredictable, evoked by stimuli in the environment. If I don't have a purpose, I'll identify with whatever random self comes into my head. Every passerby, every falling leaf, faces, colors, can take my mind in a thousand different directions. Under this law it's difficult to hold to one course, because one is inside a messy moving cycle that proceeds randomly in all directions.
Another law to which I subject myself is that of cause and effect (world 48: intellectual center, personality, many 'I's). I commit a crime, I am imprisoned. My actions today may determine where I am tomorrow. I am where I am now because of past actions. Eastern traditions have long used this concept (karma) and extended it over multiple lifetimes.
In world 24 (essence), I am subject to the laws of my own essence. I meet my destiny....My particular type of essence will necessarily bring me certain experiences. We can be sure that a kitten will encounter creatures as small as mice or insects that it will hunt: it's inherent in its type of essence. And that a newborn land turtle will have a life with a different rhythm, and will taste more salad leaves than mice.
Essence is the door to presence. Getting out from under the law of accident, which can’t lead us anywhere, and entering the law of destiny means coming closer to the door of the temple.
In worlds 12 and 6 we become part of a higher order of creation, of the conscious aspects of the universe, and we find ourselves under very special laws, subject to the direct influence of Influence C.
